Income Tax (IIT) Settlement in 2020, which kicked off the prelude to the second wave of IIT annual filling.

BritCham Shanghai and BritCham Guangdong co-host this webinar and invite HR & Payroll expert Susan Peng from Tricor China to interpret the most up-to-date IIT related policies and how to leverage the preferential tax policies. Susan will also shed lights on the possible increase of tax for expats after 2021[1] and share preferential tax policies in special zones.

Key takeaways:

  • The main changes for IIT annual filing in 2020 to that in 2019, particularly the changes of liability to employer and employee.
  • Introduction of the preferential individual income tax policies of Greater Bay Area and Hainan Free Trade Port and how to apply.

[1] In December 2018, the Ministry of Finance and State Tax Bureau released a policy of a three-year transitional treatment for some special individual income items (e.g. one-time annual bonus, eight items of non-taxable allowances for expatriate employees, etc). These preferential tax policies will be ended o 31 December 2021.

Following Susan's session, Partner at Dentons Beijing Office Calvin Chiu will advise on how HR manages and administers employees' data. Calvin's sharing covers:
